In addition to improving your conversational and grammatical skills, you will learn cultural nuances of the language that distinguish foreign speakers from native speakers. We make extensive use of broadcast and printed media to “tune” your ear to the cadence and rhythm of spoken Spanish. Here are a few of things you can expect to learn:

• Understand and discuss topical subjects
• How the culture influences language and vice versa
• Writing a proper business or personal letter
• Language “etiquette”
• Special vocabulary related to your profession

Experience Required: Basic level of Spanish

Activities Included: Latin Dance Classes, typical cooking, riding on public transportation, visits to the marketplace and other points of local interest

Class Syllabus:

• Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels:

In these courses, students review the grammatical problems of Spanish as a second language and work with more advanced topics. In addition, students will strengthen their existing knowledge and minimize their weaknesses. Intercultural analysis of Latin America, the interpretation of literal works, and the improvement of written Spanish are emphasized.

All students receive a certificate of completion at the end of their course.
