What can you learn in one week? Plenty! In one week you can learn the basics of getting along in a Spanish speaking country. Here are some of the things you will learn in our one week Survival Spanish Crash Course:
How to order in a restaurant
How to follow directions (in Costa Rica directions are given according to compass reference, landmarks and distances)
How to take a bus or taxi (describing where you are going, negotiating a fare, etc.)
Conduct casual conversation with a stranger or a friend (where are your from? what is your name? etc.)
What to do in an emergency
Experience Required: no previous Spanish experience required
Activities Included: Latin Dance Classes, typical cooking, riding on public transportation, visiting the marketplace, mall and other points of local interest
Optional Travel and Tours: It is impossible to visit a tropical paradise without experiencing some of its natural wonders. Depending upon your interests, schedule and budget, Pura Vida can provide tours to the rainforest, volcanoes and beach where you will enjoy surfing, white water rafting the canopy, etc. Ask abut our special “combo” packages (study & travel).

Beginning and upper Beginning:
The goals of these introductory courses are to achieve a basic level of oral communication in the present, future and the past tense. At the same time students will acquire a general knowledge of Costa Rica and Latin America. Students will learn the minimum vocabulary and grammatical structures needed to communicate with the Spanish speaking community.
